Welcome to First Baptist Church of Rochester
We're glad you found us! Our hope is that this website will show you our church as if through a two-way mirror. Now that you're here, feel free to click around and learn about our family. Once you get to know us better, we invite you to meet us personally by dropping by or giving us a call. Find helpful tips and links throughout this page and around our website.
Who we are
Visit and see for yourself why we have been part of the Rochester community for over 150 years. We are a body of imperfect believers who are committed to glorifying God as we worship Him, grow as disciples, proclaim the good news of the Gospel, and serve one another in love.
What to Expect on Sundays
• 9:30 am – Coffee Felowship
• 10:00 am – Morning Worship Service & Children’s Church
• 11:15 am - Children's Sunday School & Adult Bible Fellowships
• 5:30 pm – Adult Bible Study, The Gospel Project & Awana
What the Morning Services Are Like
We glorify God through worship and preaching God's word to fulfill our purpose. During our worship service we sing traditional and modern hymns along with contemporary songs, and we pray together giving thanks, praise and glory to God. Our Pastors teach Bible passages verse-by-verse and offer practical application of God's truth.
In our auditorium, we have installed an air quality filtration system to help people with allergies and breathing difficulties be more comfortable.
What to Expect on Wednesdays

Where to park
We suggest you park just outside the canopy-covered walkway to the front entrance pictured at the top of this page. Additional parking is available on the right side of the church with a church entrance by the church office.
Where to go from the front entrance
As you enter our facility using the canopied entrance, you will find a Welcome Center located to your left. Maps of our building, as well as class schedules and topics are available, and our greeters will be happy to assist you in any way possible.
Where to take your children
We are blessed with a dedicated volunteer staff that will share the Word of God with your child(ren) in a caring and loving setting. When your kids are cared for, that allows you to relax and focus on worship and Bible study. All of our Children’s Ministry workers have been processed through our Child Abuse Prevention Policy (CAPP). There is also a yearly mandatory CAPP review for all Children’s ministry workers. For additional description of the age specific classes available, visit our groups page.
What to wear
No matter what your personal style, you’ll be comfortable at FBCR. If you prefer dressy, business, or casual attire, there will be others dressed much like you. Preschoolers and children learn while they play. We encourage hands on play so that children are learning through all their senses. Younger children may also use glue or crayons during craft time. Be prepared to dress your child appropriately should their class decide to participate in painting or other messy activities.
Meeting Pastor Mark
Our Pastor would love to meet you! Pastor Mark Cizauskas and his wife, Marsha, are available after every Morning worship service to personally share in your life. We would encourage you to take the time to stop and say hello. If you would like a more in-depth visit with Mark or one of the other staff pastors, please call our church office to set up a time for a personal visit or phone call.
Plan a visit
If you're planning a visit this weekend, please stop by the welcome center where you can find helpful information about our church and enthusiastic greeters ready to answer any of your questions. Find our church office's availability and a map on the Contact page.
